Members Meeting
The members meeting this Sunday 2 November 2014 at 9:30am will be held at the SOWNY Club 98 Yoorala St, The Gap and in the adjacent Enoggera Creek.
Yes! part of it will be held IN the creek. This meeting is practical training for SOWN members and the Community to learn the ins and outs of catching fish and macro-invertebrates. Physical characteristics of the creek will be measured with a multi-probe instrument.
We need nine teams of a minimum of two individuals per team who will be allocated a site to sample in the future. Kit with nets, traps buckets, ID charts and viewing aquariums, have been prepared for use by each team. These kits were paid for by a grant from the Lord Mayor’s Sustainability Fund Grant and Cr Geraldine Knapp’s ward office.
We would like to see you and any interested friends or community members there. It will last about three hours and morning tea will be provided.
Please wear enclosed footwear that you won’t mind splashing about in the creek; gumboots or old runners are fine. No experience necessary!
