SOWN Nursery

How You Can Help

Volunteer at the nursery on Saturday or Wednesday

You don’t need prior experience to volunteer at our nursery. If you have an interest in plants, the environment and like the social aspects of volunteering, the SOWN Nursery is the place for you. You can volunteer on Saturday or Wednesday mornings.

The SOWN Nursery is located at 57 Paten Road The Gap. Our nursery is next to the Paten Park Native Nursery.

SOWN needs Saturday morning volunteers

How much fun can you have on a Saturday morning? Plenty, by volunteering at the SOWN Nursery.

We need you to help staff the SOWN nursery on a Saturday morning. It’s only for two hours every couple of months and it’s a seriously great place to hang out amongst the plants.

As well as chatting to members and helping them collect plants, there are plenty of tasks for volunteers like pricking out, washing tubes, weeding and watering. But if you want to sit in the sun and read the news, that’s fine too.

There are two volunteers rostered on. New volunteers are paired with an experienced person to show them the ropes.

Don’t delay, email SOWN today at info@saveourwaterwaysnow.com.au to go on the roster

Discover your green thumbs on Wednesday

Our nursery is open every Wednesday from 9.00 am to 12.30 pm for community volunteers to come along and propagate local native plants, sow seeds, maintain our nursery and seed bank and enjoy the fresh air and good company.

Come along at 9 am and ask for Lynn.
