Urgent call for helpers on Clean Up Australia Day

Can you spare a couple of hours this Sunday?

SOWN urgently needs experienced bush carers to assist this Sunday on Clean up Australia Day, Sunday 4 March.

Our creek ranger Emily Brash has broken her leg, so it’s all hands on deck to help organise the event. All the best for a speedy recovery, Em.

SOWN Director Rob Whyte has asked for someone to volunteer to be at his house at 6:45am to help move gear and plants to the site.

We would also like helpers to be on site at Dawn Street Park at 8am to set up marquees, tables and lay out the plants. Please bring any spare mini-mattocks and gloves you may have.

The public event runs from 9am to 11am. So there will also be a need to help with cleaning up the site at the end of the event too.

As there will be clean-up activities as well at a planting, we will need to remove rubbish from the site. Someone with a ute or trailer could assist with this. The rubbish needs to be taken to the nearest skip at The Gap.

We are expecting a big crowd, so come along. It’ll be fun!
