Convenor: Taylor Range Club
Situated on the south bank of Enoggera Creek between the Ashgrove Golf Course and St John’s Wood in Greenlanes Road, Ashgrove, the Taylor Range Club is a non-profit community organisation providing leisure facilities for members. In 2022 the Club received a Queen’s Jubilee grant to improve the habitat on its land along the creek.
More recently, the Club joined the Brisbane City Council Land for Wildlife program and has established the Taylor Range Biodiversity Group with leadership and assistance from Janet Mangan of SOWN. The Biodiversity Group meets on the first Sunday of each month from 7.30 to 9.30 am, followed by morning tea provided by the club. All club members and SOWN members are welcome.
The planting program has increased the biodiversity and fostered an improved aquatic environment for turtles, water dragons and hopefully, platypus. Now the Club volunteers are removing weeds, restoring native habitat and learning about the plants and wildlife that make this place special. The Club is encouraging members and local volunteers to join the regular working bees to maintain and improve this important site.
