The Taylor Range Club has transformed a weedy bank on Enoggera Creek into an amazing space for their members with a little help from SOWN,  Habitat Brisbane and the Queen.

SOWN supported the Taylor Range Club in securing a grant from the “Planting Trees for the Queen’s Jubilee” program.

On Saturday 8 October 2022 volunteers from the Taylor Range Club and SOWN planted more than 500 plants.

On the following weekend a ceremony was held by officials from the club with Federal Member for Ryan Elizabeth Watson-Brown MP and local Councillor Steve Toomey. State Member for Cooper Joint Bush MP was a late apology with a sick child.

SOWN President Renée McGlashan said it was great to see our representatives supporting the club and the local community.

“A big thank to our bushcare champion Janet Mangan for taking the lead for SOWN to assist in getting the site ready for planting.

“What a difference from a weed infested site earlier in the year to a restored riparian zone along Enoggera Creek,” she said

SOWN also worked with Brisbane City Council to restore sites ether side of the Taylor Range Club creek bank.
