Invitation to SOWN 25th Anniversary book launch
Hello everyone,
As I hope you know, SOWN is celebrating its 25th year in 2019. We have commissioned ToadShow (Anne Jones and Rob Whyte) to prepare a history of SOWN from 1994 to 2019. This will be available as an ebook, from our website, and as a hard copy (in very limited edition).
The history book has been completed and is with the printer. It looks great and tells a compelling story in words and pictures of SOWN’s work in revegetating and caring for the Enoggera Catchment. The book features 30 of our oldest and most active bushcare sites and groups.
SOWN members and friends are invited to come along to the book launch on Sunday, 24 March at the Old Newmarket Bowls Club, 212 Ashgrove Avenue, Newmarket. Please come at 2.00 pm for refreshments and a 2.30 pm start. Our local Councillor for The Gap, Cr Steve Toomey, will launch the book on behalf of the Lord Mayor, Cr Graham Quirk. There will be a presentation about the book and SOWN’s history followed by afternoon tea. The event will conclude at 5.00 pm.
It will be a great opportunity to catch up with old SOWN friends. Those of you who have ordered a hard copy of the book can collect it at the launch
