A trek in the upper catchment… very steep in parts – Join other SOWN/BRAIN members as we spend the morning exploring the rainforests and waterways of the upper reaches of the Enoggera Creek catchment. Martin Fingland will be leading us in search of the Giant Scrub Ironwood and there will be time to wonder at some of the other botanical marvels of this special area. So dust off those walking boots for a descent into the “Hell Hole”… and hopefully out again!
NB. We will be walking on a mixture of forestry roads, walking tracks and unformed trails, with a few rocky creek crossings. The walk in and out is on foresty road, but is quite steep in parts.
Cost is $10 payable on the day. Places are very limited and bookings are essential. And please don’t book and then not show up, as you WILL be stopping someone else from attending.
Where: walk starts and ends at McAfee’s Lookout carpark, Mt Nebo Rd (UBD map 135 K7)
When: meet at 8.45am Sunday 14th June. Walk leaves at 9am sharp! We will be back around 2pm.
What to bring: drinking water, morning tea, lunch, hat, sunscreen, comfortable walking shoes.
Cost: $10 per person
