Sericulus chrysocephalus (PTILONORHYNCHIDAE) Regent Bowerbird

Ptilonorhynchidae

Small, slim bowerbird with a long slender bill. Male glossy black with yellow head, wings and back of the neck. Females mottled white and brown with brown wings and a white-grey head. Found in south-eastern Queensland and north-eastern New South Wales, on the eastern side of the Great Dividing Range, in rainforest and other densely forested areas. Feeds mainly on fruit from the canopy and upper layers of the forest.
