A few places are still available at this Thursday night’s workshop on platypus. Come along and find out all about SOWN’s mascot from local platypus expert Anna Muscat. But be warned! You may become so enthused about these fascinating creatures you decide join us in Sunday morning’s platypus survey! See below for all the details, and don’t forget to book!

Platypus Search – workshop and platypus survey – SOWN has joined forces with the Wildlife Preservation Society of Queensland (Wildlife Qld) to investigate the distribution and abundance of our much loved SOWN mascot in Enoggera Creek, Fish and Ithaca Creeks. Platypus have been sighted at many places in the catchment over the years, and the survey will provide important information on the effects of drought and recent floods.

A workshop on platypus behaviour and identification, presented by experienced local platypus researcher Anna Muscat, will be held on Thursday 23 April, with the survey proper on Sunday 26 April. Survey participants are highly encouraged to attend the workshop, to ensure quality data is collected.
