Twiner (vine) with stems and leaves fawn-pubescent, sometimes glabrescent (not hairy) with age, dioecious (separate male and female plants). Leaves with lamina ovate to lanceolate, usually 4-10 cm long, 2-6 cm wide, pubescent (hairy) with spreading soft fawnish hairs; secondary veins 4-6 pairs, reticulum coarse, raised when dried; petiole 5-20 mm long, with a distinct pulvinus at the apex. Inflorescences 2-8 cm long, pubescent.
