PINNIDAE (Razor Clams)

Razor clams are slender, fragile, brittle shells buried in mud with the pointed end anchored by a tuft of fine fibers (byssal threads).

Pacific Penshell (Atrina pectinata) is found generally in shallow water and only the very top of the shell is usually visible.
