The Northern Brown Bandicoot Isoodon macrourus is a nocturnal marsupial weighing approximately 2 kg and with a body length of 400 mm. The tail, which can measure up to 170 mm, is sometimes absent. It has a long pointy snout, rounded ears and brown fur. Its movements are jerky and its 3 long-nailed toes are ideally suited to digging small holes in lawns and garden beds.
