One of Brisbane’s faunal emblems

Males 40 mm, females 45 mm. Bright green and yellow treefrog with orange-gold eyes. Green back and outer forearms and legs. Yellow abdomen, lips, and inner arms and legs. Hind surface of thighs purple-brown. Fingers almost fully webbed, and toes fully webbed. Its habitat is east of the Great Dividing Range, from Cape York to Sydney, in swamps, ponds and temporarily flooded areas. Common garden frog. The call is a long loud and drawn out aaaaaarre. Spawn is laid singly or in flat plates on the water surface. Summer breeder, in wet weather.
