Frogs

Smooth frog with pointed snout. Length 60 -70mm. Light brown to grey brown with broad dark brown stripes, a cream stripe down the centre of the back, and a wide blacker stripe from the snout through the eye to the arm. Underside white. Legs plain or with dark bars and blotches. Long fingers and toes with no webbing. Widespread in eastern Australia, except in rainforest. Common suburban garden frog. Call is a single repetitive tock. Dark eggs laid in a white foam mass on the surface of still water, often in garden ponds. May breed year round but mainly in summer.
