Restoration Celebration

After a two-year break it’s time to once again join like-minded people from across the city to acknowledge and celebrate the achievements of volunteers in protecting and restoring Brisbane’s biodiversity.

Catch up and share ideas over a cooked breakfast, and listen to guest speaker, Dr Margaret Cook, a flood historian with a significant body of work in environmental and social history. The Welcome to Country and music will be performed by Song Man, Derek Oram-Sandy.

The event will include presentations and tours at the Oxley Creek Common:

  • The Oxley Creek Transformation – presented by the Brisbane Sustainability Agency
  • Common Carers bushcare sites – led by Mary Lou Simpson, Oxley Creek Catchment Assoc.
  • Birds of Oxley Common – presented by David Niland, Birds Queensland
