Happy New Volun-year!

News-Archive

It is not an official year of volunteering, but it is a perfect time to try something new as we start the year with ambitious intentions. While the COVID pandemic is challenging our intentions and spirits, our volunteers are finding ways to be active, social and happy during these times.

SOWN runs and thrives on volunteers in many different roles. We have administrative, bushcare and nursery volunteers of all ages and abilities. The common thread that brings us together is doing something positive. The end goal is to successfully regenerate our catchments along Enoggera, Ithaca and Fish creeks, but along the way we are creating healthy people, healthy plants and healthy catchments.

We always welcome new and returning volunteers, whether you come regularly or just once in a while. Anthropologist Margaret Mead once said, ‘Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world. Indeed, it is the only thing that ever has.’

Check the SOWN events calendar for some bushcare volunteering events this month and regular bushcare group activities near you.
