The SOWN nursery is full of native plants from the Enoggera catchment and, after all the rain, this Saturday morning is a great time to pick up some for your creek site or backyard.
Nursery opening hours are 9.00 am to 11.00 am. Plants are free to financial members of SOWN – please bring or collect your membership card.
So, there is no excuse, get out and get planting!
Three Mile Scrub Group Working Bee – this Saturday
Want to get your hands really dirty? Come along to the Three Mile Scrub Bushcare Group working bee on Saturday 25th March from 2.30 pm to 4.30 pm. The site is near the creek crossing at Quandong Park in Quandong Street, Ashgrove.
We will be doing mosaic planting of a prepared area on the upper creek bank. While cane grass is a weed, it provides good cover for many forms of wildlife. To maintain wildlife habitat, we are removing a mosaic of scattered patches of cane grass, planting them out with lowland rainforest species, and not removing adjacent cane grass until the new plants are providing good cover.
Please see Chris when you arrive.
