The end of Cane Grass celebration is definitely on. See Update below.
Join Three Mile Scrub – Quandong Bushcare group on Sunday 28 November as we celebrate the removal of the last two stands of cane grass along the bank of Enoggera Creek between the Seils Park and Quandong Park bridges.
Habitat Brisbane officers, Simon Fox and Jodi Rees, will be there to ceremoniously cut the last two stands of cane grass to acknowledge the support they have both given. The group will also publicly thank all the SOWN nursery volunteers for their work in producing over 20,000 plants that were needed to revegetate the area.
7.30 am – Working bee for those interested to plant out a new area along the pathway opposite the celebration site
9.00 am – Brief ‘ceremony’
To follow – Bush brunch (food will be provided, but you would be welcome to bring a contribution)
- The event is definitely on.
- Light showers are possible, so wet weather gear is recommended.
- Access via Seils Park is recommended. The Quandong Park bridge can be muddy and slippery.
