The Aussie Bird Count is back for 2026. Thank you, if you have previously taking part in the Aussie Bird Count. Together with thousands of others, you’ve helped us at BirdLife Australia build a national snapshot how our feathered friends are faring across the country.
Last year, 64,000 people counted more than 5 million birds ‒ now it’s time to do it again. New bird counters are welcome, and we’d love you to count with us again, to help make this year’s Count our biggest yet. From October 19-25, spend 20 minutes watching, counting and enjoying the birds in your favourite outdoor spot. You’ll discover your local birds, connect with nature, and feel great knowing your sightings are contributing to citizen-science.
