Egretta is a genus of medium-sized herons, mostly breeding in warmer climates, common throughout most of Australasia. A relatively small heron, pale, slightly bluish-grey in colour, with yellow legs and white facial markings. It can be found almost anywhere near shallow water, fresh or salt. Also called the Blue Crane.
