Tomorrow Sunday 26 July 2015

Don’t miss the combined nursery fun day there will be talks, displays and demonstrations. You can help both nurseries and contribute to National Tree day by coming to see the displays and bringing your relatives and neighbours.

There will be a kids wildelife art workshop and a detector dogs display and much more.

This is a way to introduce the nurseries to the community and ensure that the whole community can utilise the nurseries throughout the year. Our nurseries produce plants from wild seed collected under licences and permits. Genuine wild plants to ensure habitat and natural food for our native birds, bees and wildlife. Native foods for you to grow and enjoy along with bush flowers as nature intended. The whole day is one of fun and education for the whole family.
Most people laugh when you mention dogs and wildlife, but dogs can be trained to be wildlife friendly, come along and see the display. SOWN’s Water Quality Management and Fauna Survey team will have an aquarium of native fish from the Enoggera Catchment. See and meet the Green Army team who have been restoring the bushland around the nurseries.
Talk to authors of local and international wildlife publications.
Have you ever thought of joining the nursery as a volunteer or helping the WQM and fauna survey, but would like to know more before committing -this is the day to seek and ask questions.
There will be a coffee van BBQ and refreshments available on site, come and enjoy the day, you will be helping SOWN and Paten Park Native Nursery celebrate National Tree Day.
Talk to the authors of local and international publications in our author’s tent.
This event is supported by SEQ Catchments, What’s your Nature Grant, Brisbane City Council, The Gap Ward and councillor Steven Toomey.
