Found growing on a moist creek edge. Floridata (www.floridata.com) says that Cleome hassleriana is a tender annual that grows up to 1.5 m with palmate leaves composed of 5 leaflets each 12.7-15 cm long. Flowers with long spidery stamens are held in cluster at the stem tips. Slender seed pods on long stems are arranged around the stem. This weed is native to an area of South America stretching from southern Brazil west into Argentina.
