Cat’s Caw Harvest event this weekend and NEWSFLASH! SOWN Joint winner 2006 Landcare Innovation Award

This Saturday 26 August at 3pm we are gathering at the high bridge (across from the substation) on Riaweena Street (near Illowra St ….)

… What for? To gather Cat’s Claw!

We need lots of Cat’s Claw tendrils for our “Weaving with Weeds” craft workshop at the upcoming Raspberry Festival. The Weed Weaver from the North Coast will be teaching classes in weaving and each participant will be able to take home their own handy woven object.

So we need to gather Cat’s Claw and where better than “Cat’s Claw Central” just upstream from where Matt and Vicki have been working on Riaweena St.

If you can come, please join us for a fun time (death to weeds!) at the High Bridge on the Riaweena Street side at 3pm Saturday 26 August (this Saturday). Event breaks up for a drink at Rob’s place at 5pm. All welcome.

SOWN joint winner of inaugural Landcare Award for Innovation! Yes, last night we won a half share in the first prize for SOWN TV. The full prize is a consultancy with leading environmental engineering consultancy, Sinclair Knight Merz (SKM) to the value of $12500.

Our half ($6125 worth of consultancy) will come in very handy in planning and executing some of the upcoming SOWN projects.

Full story with photos coming soon.
