Calling volunteers

eNews-Archive

We have another request for volunteers to assist with platypus monitoring along Enoggera Creek. Whether you’re an early riser or prefer to watch the sun set – we’d love to have you involved.

A last minute reminder to come and join the Institute of Foresters of Australia for a planting on World Forestry Day, tomorrow Thursday 21 March at 8.00am, followed by morning tea.

Also, a volunteer request from further afield. After the floods across much of the state, local regions in QLD are calling for volunteers to assist with the flood recovery. Why not take some time to help out.

The Queensland Murray Darling Committee’s Dirty Gloves is harnessing the power of volunteers to help farmers, some of whom have been devastated by four floods in just three years, to get back on their feet. If you’d like to help, more information can be found at: http://www.qmdc.org.au/qmdcs-dirty-gloves.html

The Burnett Mary Regional Group (BMRG) is also continuing the volunteer flood clean-up effort in the Burnett and Wide Bay region. In partnership with local landholders, Landcare groups and North Burnett Regional Council, BMRG is coordinating teams of volunteers to assist flood affected primary producers clean-up flood debris. To assist call BMRG on (07) 4181 2999 or email admin@bmrg.org.au.
