Aromatic leaves
Widespread perennial grass to 1 metre in woodland on better soils, native to Africa, India, Australia and the Pacific. Fairly drought tolerant. Leaves strongly aromatic when crushed, smelling and tasting like turpentine. In Queensland it seeds from December to late autumn.
