Ardisia elliptica (MYRSINACEAE) Shoebutton Ardisia

Weeds to Whack

This specimen was found on a creek crawl as part of the surveying of Ithaca Creek, undertaken at the beginning of the Ithaca Intact project, early 2007. Dr Sheldon Navie identified it as Ardisia elliptica Shoebutton Ardisia. It is a problem species in Northern Territory and North Queensland and an emerging weed in South-East Queensland. It is another garden escape.
