Group convenor: Janet Mangan
This park is south of of Enoggera Creek and runs from the footbridge behind The Gap shops to the new kindy in Payne Road. It includes part of Paten Creek and its junction with Enoggera Creek. It is a very busy and popular park with the start of the Brian Hallinan footpath/ bikeway, netball courts and a BMX starter track.
SOWN has been involved in plantings in the park for many years. Over the past few years, Janet Mangan and BCC have done several plantings with students from the adjacent Payne Road State School. SOWN has recently adopted Alfred and Lucina Best Park as a catchment group site with support from BCC. Regular maintenance and planting sessions will be held.
