Ailuroedus crassirostris crassirostris (PTILONORHYNCHIDAE) Green Catbird


A species of bowerbird found on mountains of New Guinea and along the east coast of Australia, from south-eastern Queensland to southern New South Wales. Its colouring is emerald green, with faint black markings on the face and white streaks on the neck. Green Catbirds feed mainly on fruit, flowers and other plants. Common on Mt Glorious. Often heard but seldon seen. Occurs in rainforest pockets elsewhere. Sometimes heard in Glenella Street Park at The Gap.
