SOWN is planning a large community planting at Wittonga Park, The Gap, in October as part of our 25th anniversary.
We want to invite all our members, friends and community partners to come along and help us plant 2500 native trees and shrubs along Fish Creek to mark 25 years of SOWN's work.
Date and time: Sunday 13 October, 8.30 am to 12 noon.
Place: Wittonga Park, The Gap. The planting site is accessed from Belclare Street.
The program is as follows:
8.30 am - Sign on
9.00 am - Welcome to Country, Didgeridoo
solo, and Planting briefing
9.15 am - Planting along Fish Creek
11.15 am - 25th anniversary activities
11.30 am - Drinks and sausage sizzle
This planting is being actively supported by the Brisbane City Council and The Gap Ward Office.
With 2500 plants to get into the ground, we need a lot of extra community support, so please bring your community group and friends along.
