Looking for the elusive Platypus

A message from Platypus Watch

Wildlife Queensland is conducting Platypus Watch, a program aimed at monitoring and managing platypus populations within south east Queensland, and we need your help!

The program is based upon a workshop followed by surveys conducted by community volunteers. This December, these surveys will be conducted along Enoggera Creek, and we would love to have you involved.

The Workshops will be held on Tuesday 20 November at 6pm and Saturday 24 November at 10.30am at Wildlife Queensland's head office in the city and we ask that you attend one of these dates. If you are interested in leading or participating in Platypus Watch surveys in the future, but are unable to attend the surveys this time round, please come along to the workshop regardless.

Surveys will then be held along Enoggera Creek from dawn until approximately 7:00am on the following dates:

  • Saturday 1st December
  • Sunday 2nd December
  • Saturday 8th December

Places are limited, so please RSVP as soon as possible to register, indicating which workshop you will be attending and your first and second preference for monitoring dates.

Wildlife Queensland will then send you a confirmation email and further details of the program.
