This is what is permitted on Habitat Brisbane sites:
- Habitat Brisbane volunteers are authorised to remove small trees to the diameter of 100mm DBH (diameter at breast height) with hand saws only. Stumps should be poisoned and left as close to the ground as possible (no more than 250mm high) with a flush and level top. If stumps present a trip hazard, they can be flagged with flagging tape.
- No chainsaws are to be used by Habitat Brisbane volunteers on Council land. BCC insurance does not cover volunteers for this.
- No large (over 100mm DBH) weed trees are to be poisoned on Council land or Habitat Brisbane sites without the prior permission of the Habitat Brisbane officer or relevant Council officer.
