Brisbane Rainforest Action and Information Network (BRAIN) member Klaus Querengasser and SOWN secretary Anne Jones co-signed the Memorandum of Understanding that brings together these two organisations for the benefit of both.
BRAIN has been operating since 1995 as one of the key botanical, environmental, conservation and advocacy groups for habitat in South East Queensland.
The merger gives BRAIN some help with administration and management. SOWN benefits by closer involvement in BRAIN activities and access to BRAIN's extensive knowledge. BRAIN manages a Habitat Brisbane Planting in Banks Street Reserve (in the Enoggera Catchment).
The merger makes official a close working relationship that has developed over the past couple of years.
BRAIN has a lively discussion group using a Yahoo email list. BRAIN is free to join, and members of any bushcare group (not just SOWN) can be members of BRAIN.
BRAIN members who wish to obtain free plants from the SOWN nursery need to be financial members of SOWN.
